Happy Customer
Wow! I did not expect such a profound balance of meaning and beauty in such a logo that I immediately fell in love with and which represents my vision perfectly. I worked closely with Jamila throughout the whole process of brainstorming and creating and I was only amazed at the masterpiece she provided in the end. She's not only a talented artist, but also competent in creating a brand you'll be proud of.
Motif
Raghdaa writes fiction to transport her readers into different worlds. Her pieces carry this magical property and the logo has to represent that, hence the magical lamp. Her blog is aimed at writers, and writers like writing in cozy places, hence the cabin and quill. What if the cabin comes out of the lamp and the readers of the blog find themselves there... somehow? The wordmark can also come out of the lamp in another variation, completing the motif. The quill is universally known to be a writing tool and cannot be mistaken for anything else.

The client provisioned moodboards that had tints of the following colors which influenced my choice. However, the final choice incorportated Color Theory and psychology. Teal: is known to represent clarity of throught, an ideal for writers. Open communication is another meaning associated with this color. Purple: is often associated with creativity and the realm of fantasy.
Fonts
The font choice is the result of lots of trial and error and relying on a mixture of artistic sense and font theory. For example, the wordmark had to come out of the lamp which involved trial and error with font character settings without becoming an eyesore.
Grid System
Raghdaa works in publishing and her work plus logo might appear on print in magazines in the future. Her logo has to fit in a grid. The use of the grid factored into the choice of the shapes, fonts, and their relative positioning.
Adaptability
Powerful logos work even when the colors are taken away. They're easy to spot even when only their silhouette is shown. They become a symbol recognized everywhere like an element of a universal alphabet. The need for the logo to work with dark backgrounds without a circular or square boundary influenced the choice of colors.
